塞缪尔·贝克特（S1906年4月13日－1989年12月22日）爱尔兰作家，创作的领域主要有戏剧、小说和诗歌，尤以戏剧成就最高。他是荒诞派戏剧的重要代表人物。1969年，他因“以一种新的小说与戏剧的形式，以崇高的艺术表现人类的苦恼”而获得诺贝尔文学奖。
塞缪尔·贝克特爱尔兰作家。出生于爱尔兰首都都柏林，父亲是测量员，母亲是虔诚的教徒。学生时代游历巴黎时，与侨居巴黎的爱尔兰著名作家詹姆斯·乔伊斯相识，还曾当过他的秘书。
